Celebration of the National Day in Brasilia, Brazil

The Embassy of Nepal in Brasilia, Brazil organised today a special ceremony to mark the Constitution Day and the National Day of Nepal. The event was attended by guests from different sectors, including officials from the Government of Brazil, business communities, the media, Embassy family, and friends of Nepal. The Embassy showcased natural and cultural attractions of Nepal during the event held in the premises of the Embassy.

Welcoming the guests, Ambassador of Nepal to Brazil Mr. Nirmal Raj Kafle spoke about the achievements made by Nepal since the promulgation of the Constitution in 2015. He highlighted the Government’s efforts in institutionalizing the political gains, including through the socio-economic transformation in the country leaving no one behind. The Ambassador stated that the cordial relations between Nepal and Brazil have further strengthened through the means of South-South cooperation, initiatives of bilateral mechanisms and exchange of business delegations, among others. As Nepal is set to graduate from the Least Developed Country status by 2026, the Ambassador invited entrepreneurs from Brazil to explore trade and investment potentials in Nepal.

On behalf of the Government of Brazil, Director for South Asia and South East Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) Mr. Everton Lucero extended best wishes on behalf of the Government and people of Brazil on this auspicious occasion. Expressing happiness over the increasing trade volume between the two countries, he spoke about the contribution made by initiatives, such as ExpoNepal and mutual collaboration at the multilateral forums, to further enhance our partnership. “Nepal and Brazil share a deep connection with nature and a strong sense of community”, he added.

Secretary at the Office of International Relations of the Government of District Federal, Mr. Paco Britto, who was also present on the occasion, also felicitated the gathering.
